Thunberg's bold actions first began in August 2018. She calmly sat outside the Swedish parliament, walked out of classes and wore a sign which read "School Strike For Climate". Thunberg believed that this was needed in order to get political attention who wanted to act to reduce the global warming. Swedish media covered Thunbergs protests and pushed the story. Soon after, thousands of other students embraced the movement #FridaysforFuture. Students walked out of school on every Friday in protest against climate change. Climate activists from all over the world came together for the initial Global Strike for Climate. The event was an enormous success. 1.6 million people across the 125 nations took part.

Nia Gwendolyn (born Virenia Peeples) is an American actor and singer. She is famous for her role as Pam Fields (in the drama Pretty Little Liars) and Nicole Chapman (on the show Fame).
